Support Our Troops

Our thoughts and prayers are with our soldiers currently deployed overseas, whether in the middle-east or elsewhere, and with their families.

There are thousands of websites that exist to “support our troops.”  However, many of them are thinly-disguised commercial sites.  We offer suggestions to help you find the organizations that will allow your support efforts to help in the best possible way, whether it is by making personal contact, donating money, or helping in any other way.

Provide financial assistance at no cost to you

Go to supportamericantroops.org for an innovative way to provide financial support to U S troops and their families, by buying through their links, at no cost to you. We at American Patriot Web are supporting them by sponsoring some of their internet costs.

To help soldiers and families directly

If you want to help at a personal level, find a troop to support directly.  Make contact with someone that you know is currently active.  If you don’t know any personally, ask around until you find someone that has a loved-one or friend. Your local American Legion or veterans organization will know of troops from your area that are currently deployed.  Once you find a contact overseas, ask them what they need. Most troops have at least some access to e-mail. What kinds of necessities or luxuries would make their life easier? What can you do to make them feel that they are remembered in our thoughts and prayers constantly? Get your friends together and prepare care packages for them. Or organize this with your local scouting organization, school, library, or any kind of group you can find that will help.

Packages will need to be sent directly to a specific troop. The military used to have an "any service member" program, but they have discontinued it for security reasons.

Here is the U S Postal Service guide to sending to troops.

Here is the story of a local Cub Scout pack that sends care packages to Iraq.
