February 7, 1804 - John Deere, inventor and manufacturer of agricultural products, is born.

February 7, 1867 - Laura Ingalls Wilder, author (Little House on the Prairie), is born.

February 7, 1904 - A large section of Baltimore is destroyed by fire as wind whips a small fire in the business district out of control. The fire is thereafter known as the Great Baltimore Fire.

February 7, 1942 - The U.S. government issues an order to force all automakers to stop producing passenger cars and start turning out military vehicles.
